A Fall-Tastic Face of the Day With Gold, Olive, Burgundy and "JSS" - Makeup and Beauty Blog
Random zombie-related transition…
I don't know if you sentry The Walking Dead, only oh, boy! — I hope yous do, because information technology'southward 1 of the best shows on boob tube.
I call up so. I mean…yep, in that location'south zombies. But depending on how you feel about that. 🙂
It's not just about the zombies, though. It's also about people trying to survive afterwards an apocalypse…but aye, it's definitely non a brilliant and polite British cooking bear witness.
But information technology is great sci-fi/horror, and I like that. As well equally British cooking shows. And Instagram cat videos.
The characters in The Walking Dead are faced with much more than zombies (like drastic, and very bad people). The zombies are just the properties to the struggle to survive after we've lost our modern conveniences. Nosotros watch them struggle with questions of morality and humanity, and I think it'south fascinating and frightening at the aforementioned time.
Anywho! The new season only started, along with a new season of The Talking Dead, which is the subsequently show. They bring on actors who star in the prove, people who work backside the scenes and celebrity super-fans who all but chat and wax philosophic about the last episode.
It'south a lot of fun! The last The Talking Dead episode starred TWD newcomer Katelyn Nacon, who plays Enid, a young teenage survivor, and Katelyn's makeup on the after prove was on friggin' bespeak!
She looked absolutely beautiful and very fall. I couldn't stop staring at her eyes and lips the whole time! She was wearing a gorgeous warm chocolate-brown matte color in her crease with golds and khakis on her lids and a sleeky burgundy lip.
I couldn't find a good motion-picture show of it online, simply I notwithstanding felt inspired to wear something similar today.
I turned to a few old-school faves similar MAC Soft Brown and MAC Texture, which I used in the crease, then used MAC Shroom to highlight my brow bone and the inner corners, along with the e'er-reliable MAC Powersurge along my lower lash line.
I too incorporated a couple of newer products, like the naughty-sounding BECCA Afterglow holiday palette ($39.fifty), which has three pulverization highlighters and Wild Honey and Flowerchild, two of my favorite BECCA blushes.
So I'm wearing Afterglow products on my cheeks and to highlight my skin.
I'm as well wearing this new affair I'chiliad kind of freaking out over by PUR called PUR Center Polish in Caviar.
Yous can observe PUR products at Ulta. Their makeup has been around a while, but it'due south relatively new to me, and I haven't used a lot of their stuff.
The Heart Polishes are their new line of six creamy $26 eyeshadows in bawdy metallic golds, rose golds and deep browns. They're well-nigh like potted liquid eyeshadows, and they have a thin, runny consistency. They set up very quickly, besides, so you take to work incredibly fast.
Caviar, the one I'g wearing today, is a gorgeous smoky olive with flecks of gold glitter. Showtime time I saw it I was like, "Tin can I only slather this from my lash line to my brown bone?!" LOL! I contemplated doing that today, just I had errands to run, so I kept information technology relatively tame on my lids.
Ane of these days, I'll get for it, because it yearns to go big, ya know?
If yous like khakis and golds, I think you'll actually similar it. By the way, you lot tin utilise it equally an eyeshadow past itself or as a base for pulverization shadows.
Or use it both means like I did hither. I put it on my lids equally a base, then smudged a little MAC Reflects Antiquarian Gold on top, and then I packed Caviar in the outer corner.
I swear to gawd, 1 of these days, I'll figure this out, but for some reason the glitter didn't really pick up on camera when I took these pics. It should look much, MUCH sparklier than it looks hither.
Really, now that I recollect about it, I'g wearing a lot of glitter today — more than I commonly do on an average Tuesday, but hey, when you're feelin' it, you're feelin' information technology.
Getting dorsum to The Walking Expressionless now, because information technology always goes dorsum to TWD. 🙂 In the opening scene of last Sun'southward episode (**SPOILER Alert**), Katelyn'due south graphic symbol Enid gets some backstory.
**SPOILER ALERT**LAST WARNING**STOP READING RIGHT HERE AND At present**
In a flashback, we see her with her parents on the route before Alexandria. A group of zombies stumble (literally) upon their stalled minivan, and her parents, in an effort to protect her, are killed.
After witnessing her parents die, she'south forced to leave the minivan, alone, and flee. She wanders frantically through the backwoods and empty roads of Virginia, merely trying to survive. That includes, at one betoken, eating a pocket-sized tortoise…RAW!
I hateful, yous gotta do what you gotta do, homo.
Several times throughout her journey we meet Enid write the letters "JSS" with her fingers in the dirt (or with some of the tortoise'southward basic!), or on a greasy windshield, and we don't know what the letters stand for until the end of the episode, when we notice out. "Just Survive Somehow."
Information technology's real deal!
For some reason, that resonated with me. Obviously, without the zombies, but at that place accept been times in my life when I had to but put the blinders on and be like, "Well, this kind of sucks, but I have to go through it."
The characters are just so well adult. Give the bear witness a try some time (mayhap around Halloween??).
I likewise promise y'all give this look a endeavour, besides! 🙂
